Hello. Some weird thing happens at both original Bristol tracks: some of the AI (the ones who usually start in the top 5 and get the first 5 pit stall) would "stall" and go a full lap down before exiting their pit stall, long after they are actually done pitting. Is there a way to solve this? This has been a repeating issue and idk how to solve it.

Is there a reason why you're using the original Bristol rather than one of the updated ones where the a.i. issues have been sorted out better? Try out these Bristol tracks:

Pretty sure you'll find that these are not only more accurate, but more "bug free" than the original retail Papyrus versions. (I can personally vouch for the FSE versions as I did the A.I. for those and they were thoroughly vetted through extensive beta testing. As for the BBMC version, well I know those guys very well and their tracks are the GOLD standard for NR2003 tracks.)

I'm doing an nr2003 rpg and so I am going to use most of the default tracks with ini adjustments. Bristol (day/night) has not been something I could fix. So perhaps a Bristol from pre-2007 would do.

Sure sounds familiar doesn't it @J.R. Franklin ?
BBMC and FSE both struggled with the same issue on our Bristol versions. After examining how Papy did it I quickly realized they had the same bug too. Something about the double pit lanes they didn't develop quite right.
With the help of fortine_oo we were able to come up with the trick of switching a few stalls around.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but does the stall switching work on the papy version? This bug has bothered me for so long (so much so that I'm coming out of lurking to post!), and I'm a fan of the original tracks as much as possible... If so, is there documentation on how to fix this? I've tried googling various versions of "fortine_oo bristol" but so far haven't come across anything.

For anyone who might find this thread and be interested in the same, I "fixed" this issue for myself by opening the Bristols in sandbox, removing the extended pit walls, changing the apron to the appropriate racing surface types, and taking the pit lp files from NR2002. If anyone is interested in these files, or how to do this, let me know.

Hey ai_line_mod

I'm interested in your modded versions of Bristol. I've had the same issue for years. Would you please send me your versions? Thanks

Is that why the Pole Sitter's pit stall is on the backstretch instead of the being the very first stall?

I realized there were a few issues with the above edits of Bristol, now fixed in the same link:
  • some pit flaggers were missing
  • strategy_base_pitting_cost fixed for two pit lanes (set to same as NR2002)
  • spotter triggering incorrectly for pit speed. While I copied the extended surface types of NR2002, that issue might have been there as well. Tweaked the extended surface types to trigger the spotter correctly
*LINK UPDATED 9/13/2022* fxed some remaining flagger issues
