I'm using the CWS15 render scene in blender but for some reason I cannot get it to render the material. You can see from the picture the material is loaded to the model but when I hit render it just uses the default material. I even overwrote the default material as my paint scheme and that still did not work. I have no idea what is going on or how to fix this.
Does anyone else?

if it's done in eevee, you have to allow backface culling, if it's done in cycles it's a bit more compilcated, but long stroy short, allowing bump and displacement maps on the vector of the texture and put in negative values in order to "hide" them

I do it to the surfaces that are in the way. Selecting bump and displacement in surface and, putting a displacement vector with negative numbers, I recomend putting not so big negative numbers like -0.5 or -1

My guess is the interior geo is z-fighting with the exterior paintjob mesh hence making the texture appear wierd. Lots of the older mods had the meshes really close to eachother which would cause issues like that with some render scenes or render conversions.

This wouldn't really explain why blender is rendering the default skin instead of the paintscheme he is trying to use. I don't really see any conflict with external and internal meshes in his screenshot, though this seems to be a common problem in blender. It appears as though he is using a pre-made scene.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough yet about blender to give a specific solution, my guess is that there is some conflict with the program and the skin you are using. Maybe there is a format error? Also, I want to say that you have to put the image in the same folder as the model. Hopefully this at least will point you in the right direction.

Thank you. Yeah it is the scene from NCDdesigns available here at Stunod. But I did try having the flat in the same folder. I even overwrote the default file to try that (kind of like how most Carviewer scenes make you save as card) But that still didn't render. I can't figure this out.

I fixed it!
I hadn't noticed before now but in the scene box where you switch from 1 model to the other the little camera icons (for rendering) were x'd out. The scene was set so that while it would display the other models it would only render the Chevy model regardless of what model you were using.
a couple of button clicks and it renders just fine now.
