Sorry to all but the Paint request issue is on me. I've just now started back into painting again after some Personal and Health issue so are aware of may past 2 months or so of issues then other may not. I apologize i'm trying my best to get back to where I was back in March when this downward spiral began. I have good days and then I have bad ones currently and when it's bad I have no true interest in doing anything at all and this it what I'm trying to push myself thru on those days. Barely with me I will right this ship and weather this storm.

There is zero need to apologize for anything. This is not a job, you bear no responsibility for anything. Requests are solely a voluntary thing, none of them are yours unless you chose. Please do not feel burdened by any sense of duty to take any request, that's just not how it works.

I agree with Highbank, especially when the reason you haven't been painting is for health and personal reasons. If someone can't figure out that some things in life are more important then a game then that's their problem, not yours.

Plus, I looked today at the topic that I think is the one he's talking about and to me that's a fairly easy base to do. So maybe if he doesn't like how fast it's coming then maybe he could make it himself. 2 months is plenty of time for him to have tried to paint it himself.

Joe, your health and well-being is of the utmost importance and should never require an apology. You are a valued member of this community and have done so much as well. Get well soon brother.

As a guy who has recently submitted a paint request, I fully understand it is at the painters discretion to accept the request or not.
And it should go without saying that real life always takes precedence over anything related to a sim.

Joe, I wish you good health and better days ahead!

I always tell people to learn how to do their own stuff, its not really that hard to design stuff, heck the toughest scheme I had to do was the Mopar #9, Vavoline Johnny 2003 ride, Jr's Axalta, Wrangler #3, Harvick's 2014 Bud, Kurt Busch HAAS 2016, Subway scheme, M&M, and the timberwolf car, just gotta learn how to take the scheme apart.

Excellent job on those by the way.

I think the big thing for some maybe is they just don't know what to begin. So I'm starting to think that something similar to Mystical's mod making tutorials is needed. I decided to make a post here of one of my methods for painting to see if it helps some people.

Thanks and I started with simple lines and then worked my way from there.

I made a painting tutorial / timelapse of sorts last month to show my process:

At the moment, the painting side of the sim seems to be a little closed off. I'd love to make some more tutorials for painting and creating decals if it meant we saw more people stepping up to paint and contribute to the community.

That may be the way to go. When someone says they can't paint say try it. Make a Dale Earnhardt GM Goodwrench base (that might be another tutorial I do). That base is a beginner's base basically. Maybe from there they can try to do his Wrangler scheme. Those aren't going to be too complicated and would introduce people to using tools like the pen tool.

I agree. Like the tracing method tutorial I put on here, that's a method that can be used for making new logos and numbers.

I try and do a logo or a number once in awhile but my focus has been so much on bases that I don't usually get around to them.

Yep, heck I didn't do this wrangler base until this year, which was a big win for me since I always liked that scheme but couldn't figure how the living hell they did it. This help me with getting the scheme done. But if people want a bigger challenge, go do the M&M scheme.

The Wrangler one might be like a step 3 or 4. I just mentioned it because it's a basic scheme but because of some of the curves and directions of the lines that it would be a good way to learn how to draw curved lines.

But something like what you just posted would be good. Maybe the new Penske MoneyLion scheme would be another. I just wouldn't go and tell them to start out with something like Kyle Busch's Interstate Batteries schemes of the past few years. Gotta keep it simple.

EDIT: I forgot to mention too. The Wrangler scheme I was talking about is the final one that he ran, the one that was brought back later as a special scheme in the Winston.

We’re a little off topic.

All you need to know jopajoe is that those who understand are patient and respectful. Those that aren’t, well that’s their responsibility to learn how to be or else they meet the fate of that guy who got removed.
