The 906,907,910 Porsches are done. Two more GT40's to do, May have 2 more Ferraris' to add. All that is easy enough. The work now is the Chaparral 2F and Alpine attempts. The set is very pretty at the SPA Franconia track. I can not imagine any GT entries in this set. Track Pics will be posted tonight.
This is the Chaparral 2F attempt. All I can say is its a space holder and the #7 and #8 are in the field. Actually it is a nice looking car if it wasn't supposed to be a Chaparral. But I am moving on to the Alpines which will be six blue Lolas'
Added the 8 Alpines entered in the P group of Which 4 finished the 1967 Le Mans 24 hours. Added the lone Austin Healey. After watching a few boring single file A.I. races I re rated the car set to 65/80 for every one. A.I. Racing is really good with that rating but i will go back and give the top 5 finishers +5 the DNFs -5 Possibly Gurney and AJ an additional +5 for the 1st place finish. I am looking to change the alpine (or lola t70 wheel) to a flat moon cap ill see what happens.
All Cars that finished 1967 Le Mans are in place a total of 37 are completed. I did put the moon disc on the Alpine cars and its a nice look considering the Alpine on the Lola T70 bodies is not ideal. There will actual Lola T70s in the set so what wheel set remains at the end still undecided. 35 cars are release ready. The rating has some great Ai racing. I am going to send these 35 cars to a couple of thread supporters for their thoughts and ideas. While I finish out the set and the pit crews.
Blame it on Dundrod, and Sumertime Run, two tracks that I had not had before. I am trying to learn the Dundrod course with the Ad67 Le Mans cars and keep watching the Street Meet cars on the Sumertime run track. As a result AD67 pit crews are moving slow.
With 41 cars and crews completed I figure 3 more cars and crews will make this release worthy. I have a lot of fun watching these cars the white #25 Ferrari and the yellow #2 Ford are my favorite 2 cars to watch. I will stop at 43 plus one cars, then if they cover to GTP easy enough release the rest of the cars that ran that day. So this car set is less then a week away from release. Should be fun
49 Le Mans 1967 Cars and one Player Car done for total of 49. There are 5 more 1967 Le Mans Cars to be done. I am really enjoying watching these cars on the tracks. I thought I would be done this weekend but but each time I was going to stop , the next car demanded to be made. Now the last 5 cars are looking at me saying you are not leaving us out. LOL. Its spooky but I'll listen to them and release the full set. I will attempt to wrap it up by Friday.
Well I thought I would pop two Lola T 70's in the set with arrows on the noses and move right along, one hour tops. Then I started looking at Scale Models of the two cars #11 and #12 and fell in love with the cars. So I looked at the F 330 car details and will try to put some of that type of detail on the T70's.
Now because of the Deep dark green color alot will be just lost in a dark silhouette but I will work at it. I'll paint a F330 All black and concentrate on the details that stand out. Yeah that ought to work. Also I will put actual Lola wheels on. That makes the Alpine car need to be rethought. They are just generic fill ins and may do just as well on the Porsche shell unless I change the rear end enough to make the Lola clear when driving up on it. From the front the the Lola's big white arrow hood and the way the lights where put on the generic Alpine cars, the two took very different already. But they share the sale wheel mips. The Alpine cars do not deserve the Lola wheel, lol. The Last 3 cars are 2 the same and one individual and odd looking cars so only color and numbers is all that will be of them. So pardon my tom foolery and know all is well with this car set.
