Hello everyone. So I thought about importing a warwagon to a premade 3dsMax scene to show the car and pitcrew paint at the same time, but this is where I get problems. I converted the Warwagon 2.5 DirectX file to an Obj. When I did, it said I was missing some materials, clicked closed.

The Warwagon loaded, and applied a paint crew paint onto it and these are my results.

My guess is that the missing materials is the root of the problem? I've tried looking for a Warwagon scene, but the links I find are dead. I also have something else you guys could help me. Whenever I try to render, the glass on the car/truck looks bad. What do I do to fix that? Thanks.

ALL i do is copy all the files into the car scene folder you want to make it for, then open the car scen in max, import the wagon into that scene, you may need to play with the scale, don't change it to an obj or anything. picka blank material ball, pick the wagon with the eye droper, then find your wagon flat in the diffuse slot.

Ok, I see the mistake I made. I was applying the pitcrew material to all of the warwagon, when it has different materials for each thing. I converted a Z-Mod Warwagon scene from Smiffsden to 3dsMax. The pitcrew needs better lighting, and I'll have to fix some stuff to make it look good. I'll just watch some Youtube videos to fix the lights.

I modified the two truck Iceman scene and just added the Warwagon with the pit crew. I may need to change the background.

What do you recommend for the glass problem when rendering on the first post? It happens when I change the resolution size on the output render.

I'll have to let Paul answer, since I don't have any max stuff on my laptop, ( I'd need to look at the file to be sure) and it'll be another week or two before I return home.

I ended up cloning the pit crews for the first scene. I couldn't get the lighting correct on the pitcrew for the Iceman scene. I guess I'll just stick with this to show off the the pit crew and trucks at the same time. It's not pretty, but it sorta gets the job done. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

By the way, who's Paul?

LOL... the #44 is Jack's old pitbox I painted at V8Thunder (many years ago). I didn't know Ian used it as an example.

My alter eago goes by the name Carbine M1A1
alter ego (Latin for "other I") means an alternative self, which is believed to be distinct from a person's normal or true original personality. Finding one's alter ego will require finding one's other self, one with a different personality. The altered states of the ego may themselves be referred to as alterations.

Looks like some kind of backface issue to me, maybe even broken vertices. Select the windows, use the "Select Polygon" and select any possible polys facing towards the interior and delete them. If it's broken vertices, use the "Select Vertices" and select all the verts and weld them. 0.001 should work to avoid accidentally removing verts you want.

It's become a bit complicated for me to do. Now I see what you guys say by double-sided mesh. Thanks for the patience, and sorry for the many questions, 3D is a whole other monster that I don't know to use much.
