So I ended up taking the day off work today and spent the last 8 hours learning as much as I could about using 3DSM. I want to do all these renders and also help answer render request but I can’t find very many scenes to download. Seeing all these beautiful scenes in the showroom and all the answered render requests but are none of these scenes posted anywhere?

If that’s the case I’ll just spend the next week learning to create scenes instead of working on my car set. Should would rather paint though!

A lot of scenes here use max 9 with brazil, in order to use them with std max you would need to remap the materials over to that. Scene creation is a time consuming process, and I don't have the knowledge to do much yet, I can alter existing scenes, so, with that being said, a lot of the scenes I have were given to me by others, or downloaded from extinct sites. A lot of the scenes that were given to me were done so if only I didn't share them, so I'll have to stand by that promise. Good luck diving into the depths of max.

Hey Garrett. Your work has definitely caught my eye. I have 3ds max 10 that was posted over at FSB and also have 3ds max 2020 that my work IT guy installed on my computer with our work/home license. I'm learning my way around them but it was a lot more than I bargained for. I don't think I'll ever be on the level of some of you truly gifted artists but needed something to do when I'm hanging out with the woman on the couch and can't race. Going to be working on a full set of MCLM with the new Lefty templates. They're sexy as hell. After that I want to tackle the outdated haulers in time for the Daytona 500. I'm sure that will sneak up on me though before I know it. I sure appreciate everything you do for the community and thank you for responding!

I've been rendering for over 9 years and still learning stuff, & forgetting stuff, it's a lot harder than people make it out to be, lighting always gets me one way or another, There's a few guys around that have vast knowledge of all things max, not many who want to do renders for the public though. Blender is starting to come on the scene, and to me those renders don't look as good as max, We'll have to see if they improve over time.

I started out using 3ds max 5 and am still using google to find out things LOL but i mostly do custom renders i start with a standard scene and just change it around depending on what i feel like doing. But i will say i have had a lot of help over the years and have been lucky to get hold of some really good models from people i have known on various forums like this on and SRD plus a lot of others that have since shut down.
My point is keep plugging away and dont be afraid to ask for help i dont use Brazil almost never have if i get a scene that uses it i just convert it over to std max but most of my stuff uses corona.
The 2 custom scenes i like the best is these 2.
The supra has 3d hood pins and a toyota badge both made by myself along with a high detailed side mirror replacing the std one.

Good start here is a tip you see how the front of the car appears smaller than the rear and the front wheel looks smaller than the rear its because the viewport field of view is out of wack.
Go the Views then Viewport Per-View Settings then on the Per-View Preferences change the Perspective Field Of View to about 40 if it is not around that mark already usually 36 to 43 is good this is set to 40

Lighting in Blender is the bane of my existence.

Thanks Paul for the tip! Ya, I recently figured out that moving the model and moving the camera (view) is a different thing. I've installed blender because of so much frustration with 3ds max but I'm not sure if I have the patience to start back at square 1.

Also I've read a ton of threads that say "just watch the youtube tutorials" but the majority of those tell you to do the wrong thing or are so detail oriented to try and cover every aspect of every type of project, it's just too much. I thought about doing a tutorial of different things related to NR2003 but I hate my voice. Ha!

I sure appreciate all the help I've been given and I'm also always here to help anyone else on things related to NR2003. Thanks!
