Homestead promises high scores and this past Sunday did not disappoint. Team48Carvana took home the win with a 248 point score. That's the 2nd highest winning score all season, second only to Blogospheros' 287 combined All-Star Race/Coke 600 score. It's Team48Carvana's 3rd win of 2024 and also means none of the 7 winless playoff contenders automatically advance to Phoenix. Who scores a 240 and doesn't win? That would be Ackbarfan whose 240 measured up to a runner up finish at Homestead. Upstart rookie Nascar20 scored a 3rd place finish with an impressive 228. Last year's champ CardinalCopia and NascarRayn24 rounded out the top 5 with a tie for 4th place.

Congrats to @Team48Carvana on the win!

So nobody punched their ticket to Phoenix with the Homestead win. That ensures at least 2 of the 4 spots will be awarded on points. Currently sitting in those spots are Ackbarfan and db512, currently 115 and 71 points above the cut line respectively. That sounds like a comfortable margin but anything can happen with 1 race to go. Of course Connor24fan already has a spot in the Championship 4 locked up regardless of what happens at Martinsville. Assuming none of the current playoff contenders wins at Martinsville, who will claim that 4th and final spot? Right now last year's champ CardinalCopia holds down the 4th spot but by only 26 points over Cola83, 46 points over Mariner, 54 points over Hendrick9Fan, and 58 points over 2488fan4life. If you just saw your name, you know Phoenix is still very much within reach. It all depends on what goes down at the paper clip this weekend. And hey, you may want to get those picks in early just so you have that potential tiebreaker in your back pocket.

On the rookie front, BriscoeFan14 has that covered by 27 points over Kevmire and 243 over Nascar20. That gap has to shrink by Phoenix or all BriscoeFan14 has to do to become 2024 Rookie of the Year is click the "Post reply" button with 5 picks.

That about covers it from Homestead. Full results and points as they run below.

Pick smart not your favorites...unless it's AJ, then I understand...
Thing is, I did pick smart. I just replace Larson with Blaney I'd be laughing to the bank. Well, at least I'm making the championship 4 most likely this week. Got a 100 point cushion so as long as I don't miss picking, that should be enough, fingers crossed.
