The National Stock-Car Association is an offline league I created that can trace it's origins back to my old NAVRAR carsets from the early 2010s. I've been part of the NR community since August of 2010, well over 11 years, and I'm now reaching a decade's worth of carsets for a fictional series I run......

For the last two years here on Stunod, I've made showrooms for the previous two seasons of competition, though usually those threads came out within the same year their respective seasons took place. Here, since I'm going to try and take my time with the carset (as well as provide a few bonus additions I hope to get thrown into the mix), I'm going to start this early. For those of you who know nothing about my league, or need a refresher:
The National Stock-Car Association is the culmination of over 70 years of American motorsports ranging back all the way to the early post-war days in the late 1940's. Initially, it was the National Racer's Club in the north, the American Stock-Car Association in the south, and the West, the Automobile Racing Group of America. On the Eastern seaboard, it was a massive rivalry between the NRC and ASCA, while ARGA had been dominating the West uncontested. However, in the 1970s, the United States faced a massive oil crisis, seeing a major toll taken on the race teams of all three organizations. This led to the NRC and ASCA merging together, creating the NSCA in 1975. Meanwhile, ARGA barely scraped by and restructured itself into the American Stock-Car Racing Club, or ASCRC for short, and became a starting point for many of today's top stock-car drivers.
Entering it's 47th season since it's inception in 1975 and inaugural season in 1976, the NSCA's top level of competition - the NSCA Youtube Cup Series - is coming off of a fantastic season in 2021, with officials, teams, drivers, and fans all hoping that the quality of the racing continues to be as good, if not better than it has been. A tweaked aero package sees revamped nose and tv panel shapes for each of the 5 manufacturers. GM reacquired Pontiac after the return of the American manufacturer came around 5 years ago, and has since taken the direction of their stock-car program to more closely match that of Chevrolet's, leading to both manufacturer's cars - The Camaro ZL1-1LE and Trans Am Firebird - to look nearly identical. Dodge has switched away from the long-dead Dart and fallen in line with it's American rivals, bringing the Challenger to, well, challenge the Mustang and Camaro. Ford and Toyota have made minimal changes, but not wholesale modifications like Chevy, Pontiac, or Dodge.
As for drivers, Steven Merzlak comes off of his 2nd championship, being the first driver in an exact decade to win back-to-back championships since Steven Miller in 2010-11. Runner-Up Sean English looked like the championship favorite, keeping his rivals at arms length for most of the back-half of the season, however his luck ran out a few races too early, and Merzlak was able to take the lead of the points with 2 races to go. Other drivers who looked strong all season were 2014 Cup Champion Hunter Keero, 2021 Rookie of the Year Mikey Willard, 3-time Cup Champion Cody Llamas, and 2021 Daytona 500 winner Jacob Craigo. In regards to teams, Wolfpack Racing looks to be on the rise after a heavy fall over the past few years prior, while the team market has since shrunk down. Jackie Tang Racing was bought out by Wolfpack... Queen City Racing and Chase Marks Motorsports was bought out by Red Dragon Motorsports, which then rebranded to using the Queen City name.... Red Bull Racing has stepped away from their traditional 2 similarly-schemed cars where one is blue and the other silver, and instead have one as a combination of the blue and silver while the other now has Alpha Tauri logos on it..... Ravenhurst Racing sold it's assets to English Motorsports and exited stock-car racing... Realistically speaking, Silly Season was more about teams than it was about drivers, as there weren't many driver moves outside of drivers retiring or leaving and fresh faces being brought in in their places.....

Last year, it was mentioned how Elana isn't quite a championship contender as of yet in her career. Sadly that trend continued as Red Bull was mainly a mid-pack team overall over the course of the 2021 season. Still, she hopes that the team can rally around themselves and pull together a strong showing for 2022. Elana will continue to have the standard Red Bull livery for her #23 Pontiac.

In a shocking announcement only 11 races of the season, Red Bull Racing dropped Calvin Richards after a string of poor performances in the #44 car to start the season, even by the standards of where the team usually ran. Many called the move harsh, unfair, and cited that the issues involved the car, not the driver. Some even held on to the conspiracy theory that Calvin was let go after several negative comments about how the team was doing, and the quality of the equipment on track, something Elana had noticeably been tight-lipped about in comparison. His replacement was Irishman Jennsen Nomina, a relatively unknown driver until this whole fiasco, whom had some decent showings in the lower divisions. To RBR's credit, Jennsen would wind up doing better on average when it came to results, even nabbing a top 10 late in the season. Unfortunately, Calvin was able to accomplish better things in arguably worse equipment mid-season.... More on that when we get to Calvin though..... As for Jennsen's 2022 season, the car has been renumbered to #21, and Red Bull have ditched the traditional Blue Car/Silver Car for the young Irishman to instead run with Alpha Tauri backing. With over half a season's worth of races under his belt already, only time will tell if this turns out to be a good decision on Red Bull's part, or if Nomina will turn out to be the next Alex Albon......
Additional credit here: Helmets are from the 2020 F1 game (Ironically, I used Albon's helmet for Elana even though Jennsen would fit the situation better) and a helmet mod for F1 2020 found on RaceDepartment created by blondin73 for Jennsen's helmet..... These are the only helmets that will feature any sort of logos on them as from here on out all helmet designs are by me... Also the Alpha Tauri logos and associate sponsorship are from use of the F1 2020 files as well.
