The hood is different on the new Mustang vs the Fusion... it could give them problems. Last Year the Fusion had side pillar issue, couldn't get car tight enough. NASCAR allowed some changes this year and thats one reason they are fast this year, other than that they(FORD Camp) have more mature and expereince drivers that know what a car needs for handling.
We pretty much knew this when season 2014 hit (or was it '13?)
When the update was released the intial thought was "are you s----- my a-----le??!!" Because yes it is just a fusion with bigger balls. I mean what was sooo wrong with the remake in 2005 when they retrograded and produced a beauty . (And considering the last model made from 1996 just looked just as lazy*) so as far as the Fmodels of the teens go
Fusion is the standard
Mustang is the "big daddy"
And I guess that makes Focus the lil baby bro tryin to be cool.
As for the fiesta... it's just diet Fusion.....
*unless you actually the particular model of the pony.
I actually like the 2005-2013 Mustang the least. Retrograde my arse, the top is sporty, the bottom is a brick, and it looks like 2 sperate cars mashed together. IMO the newest Mustang is what the 2005 one tried to be but failed miserably. Atleast the 90's mustang went full in on the sporty round curvy design, instead of the half and half abomination this thing became.
I always thought this thing looked like a Pinty’s. In my oppion though the Camaro is still the best looking one right now in terms of cosmetics. When the Camaro gets over the learning curve like the fusion this year, it should be competitive again. And at least this is a small improvement to the basic design fusion that’s been used since 2013. I’m just gonna have to wait until SNG releases their 2019 mod.
There really is no learning curve, the chassis is exactly the same as they've been using since the C.O.T., it's that indentation on the nose. Ford had the same problem with the Gen6 car when it came out, that's why the plastic kept "falling" off the car so NASCAR would approve the change from the indentation to a flat nose with a sticker. You'd think Chevrolet would have remembered that. The Camaro really wont be competitive at the mile and a half or bigger tracks until the get rid of the indentation.
And that my friends is why the Mustang really doesn't look like the street car.
