    Pontiac Excitement 400 - Richmond
    Laps - 160
David Green was released from American Equipment Racing this weekend. Several different drivers will be driving the #96 for the rest of the season. This week Hut Stricklin will be in command of the #96 wheel.

Jeff Gordon won his fifth pole of the season (including Bud Shootout) and led the field to green at Richmond!
    l1.png
First caution occurs on lap 4 as Mark Martin turns Robert Pressley entering turn 1. Pressley suffered no damage.
    l4.png
Second caution appears on lap 11 when Derrike Cope makes contact with Geoff Bodine, nearly turning him entering turn 3. Bodine was not having it, and turned back down into Cope. Steve Park would be the one taken out by Geoff Bodine, as he was on the inside of Derrike Cope who had nowhere to go but down the track. Park struck the outside wall, but was able to continue.
    l11.png
Jeff Gordon dominated the race, giving himself a ten second lead while lapping all but the top five. His lead would be cut short by the third caution on lap 73, which was caused by Dale Jarrett. Jarrett turned Jerry Nadeau on the front stretch, but Nadeau hit the inside wall and came back up the track into Jarrett and Bill Elliott. The three drivers were able to continue.
    l73.png
On lap 115 Joe Nemechek's engine expired on the back stretch and forced him to stop in traffic. Rusty Wallace had nowhere to go but right into Nemechek. This would bring out the fourth caution, and both drivers were unable to continue.
    l115.png
The fifth caution would appear on lap 137 when Kyle Petty is turned by Dick Trickle on the front stretch. Petty was slammed twice, once by Ricky Rudd and once by Terry Labonte. Petty and Labonte were unable to continue.
    l137.png
Jeff Gordon dominated the race, leading 127 laps. Jeff Burton was able to pass him after the lap 137 caution, and would take his fourth checkered flag of the season!

    Miller Lite 400 - Michigan
    Laps - 80
Greg Sacks was released from Yarborough-Burdette Motorsports, and was replaced by Rich Bickle.

Jeff Gordon wins yet another pole and leads the field to green at Michigan!
    l1.png
The first caution appears on lap 36 for debris. During pit stops, several drivers decide to take two tires instead of four including Dale Jarrett, Jeremy Mayfield, Bobby Labonte, Bill Elliott, Rusty Wallace, and Jeff Burton. Jeff Gordon, who had led every lap before the caution takes four tires along with Mark Martin and others. Unfortunately, Rusty Wallace has a loose wheel and is forced back down pit road as the field took the green flag.
    l40.png
On lap 43 teammates Terry Labonte and Ricky Craven make contact in turn 1. Labonte tries to continue, but is struck by a faster Hut Stricklin. Stricklin spins into Darrell Waltrip and is sent flipping down the back stretch. During this caution, Dale Jarrett and Jeff Burton decide to head down pit road for four fresh tires. This caution saved Rusty Wallace from potentially falling a lap down. The DNFs of this caution were Hut Stricklin, RIcky Craven, Terry Labonte, and Dick Trickle.
    l43.png
On lap 60, Jimmy Spencer tries forcing a four wide move, which ultimately sends he and Sterling Marlin for a spin in turn 1. This brings out the third caution of the race. During this caution leader Bobby Labonte decides to pit for fresh tires, as Jeff Burton, Dale Jarrett, and Rusty Wallace all managed to race back into the top ten with their fresh tires.
    l60.png
Bill Elliott suffers some mechanical failure with 2 laps to go. This failure slows his car down in front of Ernie Irvan, who tries going around Elliott but is struck by Kenny Irwin Jr and Kyle Petty.
    l79.png
Rusty Wallace was able to fight back with fresh tires, after having a loose wheel, and win the Miller Lite 400!

    Laps - 80
Morgan Shepherd will take control of the #96 this week.

Dale Jarrett won the pole and lead the field to green at Pocono!
    l1.png
A major wreck involving multiple drivers occurs on lap 12 in turn 1. Ricky Rudd tries a four wide move that turns Sterling Marlin and Ward Burton. Several drivers pile in and take DNFs, including Lake Speed, Steve Grissom, Rich Bickle, Morgan Shepherd, Sterling Marlin, Jimmy Spencer, and Kenny Irwin Jr.
    l12.png
The second caution appears on lap 32 when Brett Bodine swipes the grass entering turn 1. Ernie Irvan and Rick Mast are collected, sending Irvan and Bodine to the garage.
    l32.png
On lap 60 Rick Craven and Ward Burton make contact in turn 1, sending both of them up into the wall. Burton's car takes flight after the hard impact and barrel rolls down turn 1. Burton was uninjured from the wreck, and Craven was sent behind the wall.
    l60.png
On the restart Jeff Burton makes contact with Terry Labonte, sending Labonte up into Ken Schrader. Schrader is turned and sent into the wall, and brings out the fourth caution. Schrader was able to continue.
    l65.png
On lap 74, Michael Waltrip and Robert Pressley make contact in turn 1, sending both of them up into the wall. Both drivers were able to continue. This would caution would make for a 2 lap dash to the finish.
    l74.png

Save Mart / Kragen 350 - Sears Point
    Laps - 45
Robby Gordon is in charge of the #96 for Sears Point.
Lake Speed will not be racing in the #9 due to the flu, not injuries. Butch Gilliland will drive the #9 for him.

Mark Martin will lead the field to green at Sears Point!
    l1.png
On lap 8 Butch Gilliland slams into Jeff Burton entering turn 11. Gilliland suffered major damage, but was able to stay on the track. There would be no caution.
    l8.png
Joe Nemechek had engine problems early in the race (lap 10) and had to go behind the wall. Wally Dallenbach Jr. and Tommy Kendall also had engine problems later in the race on laps 26 and 35.
    l10.png
Mark Martin dominated the first half of the race, but during green flag pit stops he had a lengthy stop that cost him the lead.
    l23.png
Green flag pit stops were interrupted when Rick Mast made contact with Chad Little, sending Mast for a spin in turn 1A. This would bring out the only caution of the day.
    l25.png
Bobby Labonte took advantage of Mark Martin's slow stop and gained the lead when the caution came out. Martin was not able to recover, so it would be Bobby Labonte taking the checkered flag in the Save Mart / Kragen 350!

Jiffy Lube 300 - New Hampshire
    Laps - 120
Kevin Lepage decides to leave LJ Racing, forcing the team to find part time drivers for the rest of the season. Andy Hillenburg will pilot the #91 at New Hampshire.
Todd Bodine returns to ISM Racing in the #35 this weekend after recovering from his injuries at Talladega. However his future at ISM Racing is uncertain, and may even result in him losing his ride.
Hut Stricklin is back in the #96 car for this race.
Hendrick Motorsports hires Wally Dallenbach Jr. to drive the #50 for the rest of the season, starting at Pocono. Ricky Craven after only being able to earn 2 top tens this season, while Wally Dallenbach Jr. has 6 despite missing races and switching teams.

Jeremy Mayfield won the pole and led the field to green in the Jiffy Lube 300!
    l1.png
Early caution on lap 4 involves the back half of the field, when Terry Labonte clips Wally Dallenbach Jr while making a three wide move. Several Drivers would take DNFs including Hut Stricklin, Kenny Wallace, Steve Grissom and Todd Bodine.
    l4.png
On lap 25 Jeff Burton tries to make a pass on Dale Jarrett and Jeremy Mayfield at the same time entering turn 1. Mayfield comes down assuming Burton was passing only Jarrett, but gets clipped and goes up the race track with Burton and Jarrett. Burton and Jarrett suffered minor damage, while Mayfield suffered major damage. Karma didn't agree with letting Burton get away with that, and on lap 70 the 4th gear broke on Burton's car, forcing him to go the rest of the race in gear 3. Not only that, but Burton also ran out of fuel down the backstretch on the final lap, forcing him to lose even more positions.
    l23.png
Mark Martin had the fastest car of the race, leading 108 of 120 laps. Martin would take the checkered flag and score his second win of the season!

    Pennsylvania 500 - Pocono
    Laps - 80
I made the graphics change within the game, but could not find the 3d graphics control on my pc to save my life. So if the graphics aren't as good as they could be, I'm sorry about that.
Morgan Shepherd takes command of the #91
Andy Hillenburg will drive the #96
    Jimmy Horton controls the #35
Darrell Waltrip takes over the #4
Wally Dallenbach Jr. starts his new job driving the #50

Mark Martin wins the pole and leads the field to green at Pocono!
    l1.png
The race went unexpectedly caution free, but there were three drivers who had mechanical failures during the race. Steve Park had camshaft issues on lap 21, Rusty Wallace had ignition problems on lap 32, and Sterling Marlin had clutch problems on lap 76.
    l33.png
Mark Martin dominated the race, leading 53 of 80 laps. Martin looked to win this race until Jeff Burton took a gamble by not taking tires on the final pit stop. Martin ended up seven seconds behind Burton with 18 laps to go.
    l54.png
Mark Martin was able to drive all the way to Jeff Burton's bumper, but it took Martin till the final lap to do it. Jeff Burton was able to stay out on old tires and take his fifth win of the season at Pocono!

A lot of passing took place during the race, but there were zero cautions and zero DNFs. Jeff Gordon, Rusty Wallace, and Bobby Labonte traded the lead back and forth, with Gordon leading 24 and Labonte leading 25 (race high).
    l29.png
The stakes were high, and Bobby Labonte stepped up and dominated the last portion of the race to score one of the biggest wins of his career!

    OK let's review some things:

ONE, just one Mock Season thread per member at a time...I find that many folks get all hot to do a three series thing with NASCAR's big 3 but the truth is they hardly ever are able to maintain one let alone three...so just one active series at a time.

    Is This Dead?
If I have to post that in your thread, you've neglected your Mock Season and it is in danger of going Bye-Bye...we don't need 14-30 inactive abandoned Mock Seasons going in here that a member may or may not ever return to complete...which is what we had yesterday when I started the weeding out of dead threads.

It's this simple guys, if you can't see that you are going to complete the thing, don't start it...it makes you and I and the site look foolish. Many folks think Mock Seasons and Offline Leagues are silly wastes of time. I am one person in the sim racing community who truly believes in them, someone who really enjoys seeing them done, when they are given the time and energy they can be pretty cool and entertaining...but they can also be dull and uninteresting wastes of space if not maintained. That just gives ammo to those who would just as soon see them disappear completely. Don't give them ammo here at Stunod Racing PLEASE!

    Is This Dead? Part 2
How long is too long between updates and races, ect...?
Personally I think if you go more than a week without adding a new race or providing some interesting backstory posts then maybe you don't have time to do a Mock Season...think about it? If you aren't interested enough to maintain your own thread, why would anyone else care about it?

As I have already made clear, I support all of you who want to do this, but you must want to do this and take it somewhat seriously for us to continue to give you space to do it...Throw me a bone and show some effort...weekly at least....

I am going to create some new title banners (like the COMPLETED one) that say somelike ACTIVE, to indicate that your Mock Season is considered alive and well...there will be ones for other various states of the thread that will give you some idea if you are in danger of being deleted...but really people don't let it get to that...

    More Than Results
Posting lists of results and virtually nothing else is rather boring. I've seen some very alive Mock Season lack any interesting facets because they are just results lists...a picture speaks a 1,000 words you know? Backstories are fantastic for drawing your followers into the fantasy of your Mock Season, after all that's what this is supposed to be, you telling the story of your season. Tell it! Show it! Make it exciting, make it like something folks wish they had seen themselves, even more tell the stories so well that they feel as though they actually did see it...

    One last thing...
Maybe your thread has a member or two that are participating by posting in your thread...don't neglect them, they are hard to come by and only help your Mock Season gain followers...it's nice to know someone gives you some interest, repay them with more updates and activity.

Thank you for your hard work on these Mock Seasons, I appreciate the added content they are to Stunod Racing. Now make me proud, make your Mock Season something special, something that sets the barre for this type of content...but also don't make me delete your thread because you abandon it....

The Bud at the Glen - Watkins Glen
Laps - 36 (shortest race of the season)
Jerry Nadeau is kicked out of his ride at Elliott-Marino racing due to bad performance. This week he is replaced by Tom Hubert. Nadeau could not find a ride for this race and is forced to sit out.
Darrell Waltrip continues driving the #35
Morgan Shepherd continues driving the #91
Ron Fellows takes command of the #96 for this race
Tommy Kendall will drive the #46 for this race

Dale Jarrett claims his fourth pole of the season and leads the field to green at Watkins Glen!
    l1.png
Jeff Burton had a fast car early, but locked up the tires while entering turn 11 on lap 9. He was forced to pit to fix the damage. Fortunately for him the race went green all the way through and he was able to regain track position when the rest of the field pitted for fuel.
    l9.png
Bobby Hamilton, in only his second race back from injury, was able to dominate the race leading 31 of 36 laps. He had stretched his lead to 8 seconds over Mark Martin (2nd place).
    l15.png
Jeff Gordon had a really fast racecar towards the end of the race, closing the gap to just over a second behind leader Bobby Hamilton as the white flag waved. During the last lap he was able to close up big time on Bobby Hamilton, getting to his bumper entering turn 10.
    l36(1).png
Hamilton blocked the inside entering turn 11, so Gordon took the outside and made it work just enough to steal the win away from Hamilton, beating him by 0.045 seconds!

Pepsi 400 Presented by DeVilbiss - Michigan
    Laps - 80
BIG announcement this race as Roush Racing and Cale Yarborough Motorsports agree to co-own the #98 car, due to lack of funding and good finishes for the #98 team. Kevin Lepage signs on to drive the #98 for the rest of the season, as Rich Bickle is released from the team.
Darrell Waltrip is back in the #35 this race.
Buckshot Jones takes over the #96 for this race.
Dennis Setzer takes over the #13 for this race.
Steve Grissom is released from Larry Hendrick Motorsports due to bad performance. Jerry Nadeau will take over the #41 for this race.

Mark Martin scored his fourth pole of the season and led the field to green at Michigan!
    l1.png
On lap 30 Wally Dallenbach Jr. has some sort of mechanical issue that stops his car in the middle of the track. Rusty Wallace gets into him first, without suffering major damage, then Dale Earnhardt runs into him and collects Steve Park and Chad Little in the process. Park, Earnhardt and Dallenbach Jr. are unable to continue. This would be the first race with a caution since New Hampshire and the first race with a DNF since Pocono (the second one).
    l30.png
On the restart Mark Martin cuts a tire after just visiting pit road, and is forced to make another. Ken Schrader had engine issues early in the race that trapped him several laps down, and during the caution he decided to stay out to gain one back.
    l34.png
The lap after the restart, Ken Schrader blocked as hard as he could to stay in front of the field. Jeremy Mayfield had a run, and behind him Jeff Burton also had a run, making a three wide situation entering turn 3. Burton didn't leave Mayfield much room, and they made contact sending them up into the wall along with Schrader and Bobby Labonte. Mayfield had the fastest car of the race, leading 26 laps before this wreck. After the wreck, Mayfield and Burton had a heated argument about this incident, plus Mayfield still wasn't happy about the New Hampshire incident. This caution would benefit Mark Martin who had just gone to pit road to fix his cut tire.
    l36(1).png
More and More cars piled into the wreck taking out several drivers including Ken Schrader, Darrell Waltrip, Jerry Nadeau, Jeff Green, Geoff Bodine, Robert Pressley, Bobby Labonte, Chad Little, and Jeremy Mayfield.
    l36(2).png
Even more cars are taken out when they start stacking up on the back stretch, eliminating Rick Mast, Jeff Burton, Rusty Wallace, and Derrike Cope. This would be a first DNF of the season for Burton and Cope.
    l37.png
Mark Martin didn't let a cut tire stop him from leading the most laps (29) and winning the Pepsi 400 Presented by DeVilbiss! (got to get that sponsor in there)

    Goody's Headache Powder 500 - Bristol
    Laps - 200
Darrell Waltrip continues driving the #35 car.
Steve Grissom takes over the #96 ride for this race.
Dennis Setzer continues driving the #13 car.
Jerry Nadeau continues driving the #41 car.

Jeff Burton won his 2nd pole of the season and led the field to green at Bristol!
    l1.png
Ward Burton was tagged by his brother Jeff entering turn 1. Ward Burton suffered enough damage to force him down pit road for repairs. When he left pit road and merged into traffic he got caught in a four wide situation that got him and Ernie Irvan turned on lap 36. Top five contender Wally Dallenbach Jr. also got caught up in the mess.
    l36.png
During the caution, Top three contender Dale Jarrett made contact with Michael Waltrip. Jarrett was trying to leave pit road while Waltrip tried to enter. They made contact and Jarrett smashed into the inside barrier, ending his chances of a good finish.
    l38.png
On lap 84 Johnny Benson Jr. Makes contact with Robert Pressley turning both of them entering turn 1. Other drivers get got up in the wreck including Morgan Shepherd and Ricky Rudd, with Rudd being forced to end his day.
    l84.png
Jeff Burton started suffering brake issues halfway through the race and on lap 95 he ran into the back of Terry Labonte, turning him and causing a wreck exiting turn 4. Kevin Lepage took a hard hit into the outside wall then a hit from Kenny Wallace. Lepage was able to continue, but the same could not be said for Terry Labonte.
    l95.png
Jeff Burton's brake issues continued, and on lap 101 (a lap after the restart) he ran into the back of Derrike Cope, sending cope spinning into the outside wall. Kenny Wallace made slight contact with the back of Cope's car.
    l101.png
A major pileup occurred on lap 109 when Ted Musgrave entered pit road at the same time Bobby Labonte was exiting. Musgrave turned Labonte, and Labonte went spinning into traffic collecting multiple drivers. Only Michael Waltrip suffered enough damage to send him behind the wall and into the garage.
    l109.png
On lap 126 Bobby Labonte turned Kenny Irwin Jr. down the backstretch. Both cars spun down the apron then back up into turn 3. Miraculously no one hit either car and they were both able to continue.
    l126.png
Five different drivers led laps, four of which led over 40 laps including Bill Elliott (4:relievedface:, Ken Schrader (46), Rusty Wallace (46) and Mark Martin (49 - race high). It would be Bill Elliott who would come out on top and grab his first win since Darlington in 1994!

Farm Aid on CMT 300 - New Hampshire
    Laps - 120
Darrell Waltrip remains in the #35
Ron Fellows takes command of the #96
Dennis Setzer continues driving the #13
Jerry Nadeau continues driving the #41
Steve Grissom could not find a ride for this race.

Jeff Gordon wins his 7th pole of the season and leads the field to green at New Hampshire!
    l1.png
On lap 8 Michael Waltrip drives hard into turn 3, leaving Ted Musgrave no room on the inside. They make contact and Waltrip is sent up the track and into the wall. The caution comes out but Waltrip suffers no damage and easily got the car back going.
    l8.png
After leading the first 40 laps (race high) Jeff Gordon suffers an engine failure, taking him out of the race.
    l41.png
On lap 65 Jeremy Mayfield goes for a 3 wide move exiting turn 4. The move doesn't pay off, and he gets turned down the front stretch. The second caution would come out.
    l65.png
Teammates Jeff Burton and Ted Musgrave make contact on pit road as Burton was leaving his pit and Musgrave was entering. Musgrave was furious with Burton's team and the entire organization, for some reason.
    l67.png
Ted Musgrave, during the caution, takes out his top ten contending teammate Chad Little. Little's day is ended immediately and Roush Racing calls for a team meeting following the end of the race.
    l68.png
The team meeting might have to wait, as Mark Martin pulls of the sweep at New Hampshire!

    Pepsi Southern 500 - Darlington
    Laps - 147
Breaking News: Ted Musgrave is released from Roush Racing (yep Xerex, Ted was in big, big trouble). Musgrave will finish out the season with multiple teams, starting with the #96 team for Darlington.
Matt Kenseth will pull double duty for the remainder of the season, taking full control of the #16 car.
Dennis Setzer continues driving the #13 car.
Darrell Waltrip continues driving the #35 car.
Jerry Nadeau continues driving the #41 car.
Steve Grissom still could not find a ride.

Mark Martin snatches his fifth pole of the season and takes the field to green at Darlington!
    l1.png
Robert Pressley suffered engine issues on lap 23. His car stopped just exiting turn 2, which would bring out the caution. Pressley could not get the car going again, and was forced to head behind the wall.
    l23.png
Jeff Gordon showed dominance throughout the race, leading 80 of the 147 laps. Gordon looked to take victory lane after finishing dead last at New Hampshire.
    l74.png
On lap 103, exactly 80 laps after the first caution, Bill Elliott suffered Engine issues and stopped nearly where Robert Pressley had stopped when he had engine issues. This would bring out the second caution, but unlike Pressley, Elliott was able to get his car going again, although this would cost him a lap, losing his top five position.
    l103.png
Jeff Gordon was thought to drive away with the win, however Jeff Burton and Dale Jarrett wouldn't let it be that easy. With nearly 10 laps to go Jeff Burton would take the lead away from Gordon entering turn 3.
    l137.png
With only 4 laps to go, Dale Jarrett surged past Jeff Burton entering turn 1. Jarrett was able to drive away and give himself a 2 second lead.
    l144.png
Dale Jarrett only led the last 4 laps, but it was enough to tame the Track Too Tough to Tame!

Exide NASCAR Select Batteries 400 - Richmond
    Laps -160
Ted Musgrave returns to the #96
Jerry Nadeau continues driving the #41, most likely for the rest of the season.
Dennis Setzer continues driving the #13.
Todd Bodine takes command of the #91 for this race.
Darrell Waltrip continues driving the #35 car.

Rusty Wallace wins the pole and leads the field to green at Richmond.

On lap 35 Rusty Wallace makes contact with Dick Trickle, turning him into Jeff Green. Green goes for a ride into the outside wall on the front stretch. The first of 2 cautions would take place.
    l35.png
Jeff Gordon showed incredible dominance, leading 146 of the 160 laps. Gordon would lead the most laps for the third straight race in a row. He was able to lap up to 3rd place before the 2nd caution appeared.
    l107.png
The 2nd caution appears on lap 116 when Terry Labonte spins Jeff Green in turn 4. Both cautions involved Jeff Green being spun by another driver.
    l116.png
Dale Jarrett, one of only 3 drivers on the lead lap, was able to catch Jeff Gordon and take the lead with 5 laps to go. Gordon would once again dominate a race without winning it. This put the total up to 5 races, which include Richmond(1), Michigan(1), New Hampshire(2), Darlington(2), and Richmond(2).

Dale Jarrett, only leading 11 laps, would score back to back victories, taking the checkered flag at Richmond!

Okay school is starting and it's about time I paced myself on this. I want to continue this mock season, I really enjoy it and I like sharing it with this community, but if I don't have time for it then I will have to call it quits. For now though, I will continue on!

Here's how this mock season will be:
    - I will post one race every Saturday until the season is over
    - If I don't post it on Saturday then it will most likely be posted on Sunday
    - If I'm lucky I can post a race on Friday.

    Thank you
