From what I saw on Discord and Jayski, it seems that the #43 will continue under the RPM name while the #51 will become the #94 GMS car. Could be wrong but that's what I've seen
This is all assuming that they're going to Cup. It quite clearly says that it's one of the three series but doesn't specify, which makes me think it's more likely they go to Trucks, where there's more sales of the relevant production models and more potential team partners.
I think he was planned to continue anyway. It was the 38 charter that was going to go.
I think Newman might be done. Dibby has a chance but any ride still available is a downgrade. Breaks my heart.
Don't quote me on this but I think GMS said they were going to run part time for a season to then step up in 2023.
Spire are buying a second charter - they're where the Starcom one is going from what we hear. The inbalance in the numbers is because JTG are contracting an unchartered car - so...
Spire is the name being said. 23XI apparently are getting the #38 charter which, whether it was 23XI or someone else, was probably the fate of that charter the moment Anthony Alfredo was signed to drive it
Worst decision in T8 history. They've put a 19 year old with one main game race into the single most high pressure seat in Supercars. If he doesn't crash and burn, he'll be an all time great, but I don't see it happening
I disagree with Highbank- of the drivers who have a realistic shot of being promoted to Cup, HBurton is second only to Cindric.
As for Matty D, I suspect he may end up at one of the new teams- maybe the second Trackhouse car?
Not fully sure about Mazda, but I've heard rumours about Honda joining the championship with an Accord- that said, almost none of these rumours have been on credible sources
Question: what about JTG Daugherty, assuming they hold their charter into 2022? Do they get one car, then another car, or is the 37 supplied as a chartered car given that the 47 is chartered? I suppose 23XI could be in the same arrangement
Based on comments made by Denny Hamlin regarding the 23XI car, it may not be as bleak as this. He seemed to indicate a possible rewriting of the rules for 2023 which would abolish them. That said it would make Matt Kaulig look like an idiot...
