Was wondering if someone might know what font was used for the American Ethanol logo on this throwback paint scheme .

Can someone please teach me how to remove the background from this image. I tried the background eraser and the magic wand but it it erases parts of the actual logo. I would like to be able to do this myself. Any suggestions or help is always appreciated. Thank you.
