At the age of 21, Dale Earnhardt Jr made his Busch Series debut on Saturday, June 22nd, 1996. The race was the Carolina Pride/Red Dog 250 at Myrtle Beach Speedway. He started 7th and would finish 14th. It would also be his own Busch Series start of 1996, ahead of a few more scattered starts in DEI rides starting the next year.
