The 1992 Tide Trans Am Series could of been a Chevrolet Camaro dominated affair with teammates Scott Sharp and Jack Baldwin duking it out most of the way, it come down to the last lap of the last race to settle the title. Baldwin came out on top in his very iconic Hot Wheels sponsored Camaro. For the first time in 1992 all three of the Big 3 US automakers were all in to claim the Trans Am title, Dodge returned to the series with the Archer Brothers in the striking red Daytonas. Ford had Ron Fellows in his Mustang and of course Baldwin and Sharp in their Camaros. Corvettes, Regals, and other models also showed up with some future series champions making their early Trans Am appearances too. Football great Walter Payton gives racing a shot as well driving a Budweiser sponsored Mustang. It was a fantastic year for Trans Am splitting the races between city streets and classic road course all over North America.
