Was wondering if anyone has a good tutorial on how to make realistic chrome wheels in 3D Max. I don't have Brazil I have just been using the Mental rays scenes from this site. Thank you to anyone that can help. I am still learning this 3D max stuff and any help ia always appreciated.

The only problem I have is when I click to pick the wheel. It doesn't say Mask it says Standard. I use the image you uploaded and just used it in the reflection slot in the map section. It doesn't work real well on the truck scene doing it my way. Here's kinda what I came up with.

It looks a little washed out on the Gen6 scene doing it the way I did. It looks good on DMR scene. The truck scene doesn't look as good doing the way I did.

Don't use the chrome wheel for reflection.
Even if it says "Standard", still click on that as you would using the instructions above.

Let me know how you do. :)

Such easy and simple instructions. Why am I having problems? I click on Standard but I don't see where you pick bitmap so I can apply the image. Thank you again for helping me. I some times make things harder than they are.

Looks great, I would love to see how it looks under sunlight too. I use the 3d max daylight system to do track/outdoor scenes. I have developed a chrome material that reflects everything. This pic shows it reflecting the track color.
