Here's a long in the shadows work that may be finding it's way into the light after years in the WIP status in rFactor1...This is an error that has just recently come to HEAT and I have to say is perhaps the most glaring missing era in NR2003...

"MoparBob" started this years ago and needed help with it, it never came, but now this guy "ToBee" is working on it...

Stock Car Resurrection
---BACKGROUND---
Stock Car Resurrection is a WIP of an early 70's stock car mod. This MOD originated back in the RF1 days. However I don't think it ever saw a public release. It was close, but I got distracted with working on SCE back then. I know a few others have contributed over the years as well. Currently there are only two people working on this mod off and on. The mod's caretaker/painter and I. I have enough knowledge to get by when it comes to RF2 modding (3d modelling, 2d textures, physics, track building, ect). However I am not an expert at any of it. So I have decided to reach out to see if there are any modders interested.

---CURRENT STATE---
Right now we have 6 makes/models, 50 something paint's/teams spread over the 71-72 seasons of vehicles in game.

71-72 Chevy Monte Carlo
71-72 Ford Torino
71-72 Mercury Cyclone
71-72 Dodge Charger
71-72 Plymouth Roadrunner
71-72 AMC Matador

However I have only focused on the exterior bits so far. Everything in the cockpits still needs work. Most of the modelling is there but needs to be fine tuned and tweaked. Physics wise I am currently using ISI's 74 dissenter combined with ISI's 2016 cup mod. No tracks, but I have a 70's version of Nashville & Riverside. I had them working in RF1.

---LOOKING FOR---
Modders with experience in physics, 3d modeling, 2d textures, track creation, or anyone with a passion for these cars/era. Send me a PM if you would like to contribute.

Happy Modding!

I also noted that "ToBee" says he has '70 versions of Riverside and Nashville working...I can hope that the tracks see release as well...

rF2 is really coming into it's form, it's been a long long road for many of us who started early with it, the feel is unsurpassed and finally the graphics are getting very good...mods and tracks are really beginning to get more filled in.

I really think the stock-car racing will be big eventually. It will be hard, not arcade-ish, but for some it will be all that and a bag of chips. rF2 has mastered the tire moddling side of sim racing. The ai is becoming an amazing part of the offline racing experience. Like I side it's all coming together finally!

I have a few favorite mods that are found almost exclusively in rF2. I still have mine un-Steamed, but I think I'll be making the switch soon. I have the "Lifetime License" but to get anymore updates from ISI I'll have to switch. It's good though.

I moved to the Steam rF2 Friday.

It's working very well.

Another thing is that ISI announced that they are partnering with a commercial mod and track making group that will speed up the development and release of new content.

I believe this will jump rF2 into a prominent position in the sim market. I think it's a good time to be making the move. I drove the gen6 mod today, it was pretty darn real, the way only rF2 is real feeling.

It's an ISI add on...free!
I think the only dlc with a price is one of the GT3 mods by a third party.

Also these are not licensed Fords, Chevy's, and Yoda's, they are close facsimiles.

Tried getting his meshes for use in Nascar heat a few years ago but he never replied back to pm's on a different forum.

Ya, I believe I read a long, long time ago (maybe 2009-10) not even sure where, maybe at "Rubbin's Racin'" that he was seeking help for the mod in rFactor, but that he didn't want it converted or done for another sim until the rFactor versions was released...

That seemed so odd to me since HEAT or NR2003 was the obvious choice for the mod...rFactor? Hmmm...I never really was happy with the way any of the NASCAR mods worked in rF, ai issues...dirt stuff yes, but stockcars no

I see it's finally been released on Steam. Looks like it's a lot of fun.

Wonder now that it's been released if he'd allow the models to be converted to other platforms?

rFactor 2 used to have a standard version and a lifetime version . Is the steam version lifetime?

I'd die for some proper mid-70s stuff for NR2003. But other sims are more than capable of filling that gap till something comes along.
