Worst decision in T8 history. They've put a 19 year old with one main game race into the single most high pressure seat in Supercars. If he doesn't crash and burn, he'll be an all time great, but I don't see it happening

I remember when the HRT gave some 20 year old with no touring car experience, a ride for both Sandown and Bathurst...
... sorry. That kid had previously driven a Pulsar in the 12 Hour.

I wonder what happened to him.

I back it from Triple Eight! Would have been easy for them to poach an established driver like Heimgartner, or bring on board a safe option like Tander, but instead they've gone high-risk, high-reward. Granted, Feeney might take time to develop and may not be winning straight away, but if they can get him up to speed within a couple of years, then they'll have a serious contender for future championships on their hands

Shane Van Gisbergen, Rick Kelly, Scott McLaughlin: all were younger than Feeney when they got full time rides.

- Gold Coast officially canned for 2021.

- Winton - still happening
- Philip Island - still happening
- Eastern Creek may be pushed forwards to early November.
- Bathurst 1000 - likely to be season close; on the first weekend in December.

My wife and I have been following yours country's lockdown... Let me just say I'm glad I'm not there. Praying for you all there.

AUS: 1053 deaths due to Covid-19 - 26m pop. = 40/m
TX: 59,138 deaths due to Covid-19 - 29m pop. = 2039/m

We have a death rate due to Covid-19 of less than 2% of that of Texas.
Being alive and being able to complain about restrictions is far more preferable than being dead. "Freedom" is useless if you are in a pine box; 6ft under.

Springtime, ice cream, and sunshine... it's awful.

I would have to agree with you on the above info - I was referring mostly about your restrictions/lockdowns, which seem to be working there. My wife and I only go out when we need to and we wear masks everywhere and take long car rides just to get out. :)

Nobody saw this coming:

https://www.supercars.com/news/championship/the-top-fuel-drag-racer-behind-premiair-racing/
PremiAir Racing owner Peter Xiberras admits there are many decisions to be made for his new-look squad, just six weeks out from the season-opening Repco Newcastle 500.
Team Sydney bosses Jonathon and Kobe Webb confirmed on Thursday that Xiberras had purchased the squad’s two Racing Entitlement Contracts.

- Supercars, 14th Jan 2022

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when Supercars teams are being traded under anti-dilution regs. This is not growing the sport at all.

The last genuinely new team that entered the category was Triple Eight Race Engineering in 2003; that's sad.

Bathurst 2022.

Triple Eight Race Engineering:
97 - van Gisbergen/Tander
88 - Feeney/Whincup

...

er...

This means that Lowndes apart from being a free agent, has nowhere to go at Triple Eight.

I wanna know, does Lowndes end up back at WAU with Mostert?

This is something I don't get. 'Murica has loads of drivers and in theory enough of a GT3 program to smash everyone else in the world.

Can you imagine Newman, Junebug, Bowyer, Gordon, Johnson in a GT3 Camaro at Bathurst or Spa or Suzuka? I can.
Yeah I don't get why you don't see it more. But to be fair, you don't see it a lot for other big races across the world either. I just don't think Americans like to travel overseas ;)
