Things have been relatively slow around my neck of the woods (or more apt, my neck of the desert) and in that time, I have been using some poster boards I got for my birthday to start mocking up some racetracks for my ever expanding collection of diecast cars. The plan is to start making Stop Motion animations when these get finished up, but until now, I just push my cars around them trying to figure out the style off racing I want.

Excuse the poor quality, these were taken via phone during the waning hours of the day, so lighting isn't the greatest.

First off is Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona circa. 2009. I chose this version because of 1. nostalgia, and 2. I prefer it over the current revision.
It has a fully usable infield road course for sports car and open wheel events, and can fit 43 cars(though it gets somewhat tight when the cars spread out a bit)

Next up is the Magic Mile, New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH, built on the site of the old Bryar Motorsports Park. I figured I have a west coast mile track, why not an east coast one? Also I like it's road course layout, which I have found during my testing to be fun to use, and I feel I can create some engaging races on it.

Also on a side note, it is a PITA to search for photos of Trans-Am and Grand-Am, because guess what? It just pulls up Pontiacs!

Two dudes just came to the office claiming to be from the Dept of Home Affairs.
They told me that we'll need official ID for the upcoming Council Elections in New South Wales this September.
I asked one of them for their mobile number, said "thank you" and they left.

They've now been reported to the Australian Federal Police. x'D

Finally back from my Florida Vacation. Was fun, saw Daytona USA got to tour the Speedway, went to tour Kennedy Space Center as well. We also bought a 2007 Dodge Charger while we were there, and I drove it back. First solo long distance drive of my life, and no accidents to speak of :D

Watching the 1981 Daytona 500 again...
Richard Petty's Buick is quoted as making 430hp at the rear wheels.

Dick Johnson's Bathurst 1000 winning Cleveland 351 X-D Ford Falcon, had a wheelbase of 110.063 inches and made 490hp at the rear wheels.

Am I weird for thinking that it was possible for a window of just three years, that a Group C Falcon could have potentially won NASCAR races had they been entered?

Wood prices have been pathetic to say the least. Last year this plywood cost around $10-12 each. Not this this year for some reason. Are your prices around the same at your store @Stunod?

At what crunch level (decibels [dB]) after grilling does Garlic Bread become Garlic Toast?

:nerd:
1dB

The mere existence of crunch across the face of an individual slice of garlic bread, means that it has ceased to be bread and has transformed into toast.

ELI5:
Why is there any difference between Cup cars and Xfinity cars? Surely from an economies of scale perspective it would make sense to run them on exactly the same set of equipment and then run lesser grades with greater restrictor plates etc. Why the difference in sheet metal?

The intention was to discourage Buschwacking and Cup Leeches by making the cars drive totally differently...... And you can see how well that has turned out *Cough Cough KyBu*

They used to be the same other than the BGN cars having a 5 inch shorter wheelbase.

Hey, if anyone wants to see a really well produced downhill Monster Truck racing series here is one I've fallen in love with.
Great commentary, fairly believable racing(as far as you can get in 1/64th scale, but the stuff the trucks do is often stuff that you could see IRL,) Damaging truck bodies and removing tires to represent damage, a front-loader and chain to turn the trucks back over, basically up there with the best gravity racing YouTube has to offer

Everyone be upstanding for the national anthem of Lockdownistan:

AaWooooooWwwooooooo...

Okay. We get it. Remain in place. We've only been in this 5km cage for 27 days. You'd'a thunk we'd got the message by now.

And so does pineapple on pizza-there I said it.

I refer to you this summary judgement:

I find the defendant Pineapple guilty of freeloading and of the tort of passing off. The meat of this case is just because you often hang around with ham, doesn't automatically confer the right to be on a pizza. To top that off, trying to convince everyone that you belong there is downright deceitful and the only reason that you've gotten away with it for so long is that you've managed to sweet talk your way in.

While people are allowed to like what they like, some people are monsters and like monstrous things.
You are also allowed to ignore the ruling of a fake internet court... If so, what's up, you cool monster?
