DOSBOX is an x86 emulator which runs what basically amounts to be a reverse engineered DOS 6.22 in a standalone window.

I have managed to get DOSBOX running in all versions of Win 9x and onwards; including Win 11.

That is how I run a program called FINMAN at work and Civ 1 at home.

Big thing with emulators is that you have to understand that you are essentially creating an older computer within your computer's hard drive. There is a certain amount of hard drive space to allow for the hard drive of the older computer. This space is partitioned from the main hard drive and then uses an older operating system that is more compatible with older programs.
