After 8 prior seasons and 22 races, Jeff Burton would depart from the famous 99 ride and in would come an up and coming Roush Development driver by the name of Carl Edwards who would close out 13 of the final 14 races of the season, before going full time with Office Depot and Scott's Lawn Products in 2005 and winning the Spring Atlanta race by mere inches over Jimmie Johnson.
This is a filling but simple carset for the latter half of the 2004 season. Some cars are real, some are semi-fictional with a homage to the "Ricky Vs Trevor"campaign in the NXS series, and a bit of inspiration from NASCAR Thunder 2003 with the JR's Garage 16 car of Greg Biffle.
These are rated with NRRatings and are using the "Finishing Ratings V1" ratings from Pbfoot @ TheRacingGroove.com's for all vehicles; Martinsville 2 and Dover 2 are specific to JUST those races, all other cars are an averaging out of all races that Carl Edwards ran in 2004 to give a rough estimate as to what the performance was like.
Schemes/Cars included are:
- The 99 New Hampshire 2 car with ratings from Pbfoot @ TheRacingGroove.com (only has New Hampshire 2's race results)
- The 99 Dover 2 car with ratings from Pbfoot @ TheRacingGroove.com (only has Dover 2's race results)
- A semi-fictional white 99 with the SKF/Roush Performance logos
- A semi-fictional black 99 with the SKF/Roush Performance logos
- A semi-fictional black 99 with SKF on the hood (inverse of the white car run at New Hampshire/Dover)
These cars are painted by me with credits to the attributed artists/sites as best I can below.
